Have you met Peter Gregory yet? Peter joined DataBlend last week and is our newest Account Executive. Read more about Peter below.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. I have lived here most of my life and graduated college in 2017. And I moved to Boston, Massachusetts; I was there from 2017 to 2021. I started working at a startup software company as a business development representative for about a year. I then pivoted over to Adaptive, which subsequently became Workday. My first day at 50 Speeding Street was the day of the Workday acquisition. So fast forward four years. I had a tremendously prosperous career there as a business development representative working across different teams with different products. It was a great experience. In the summer of 2022, I pivoted to a direct seller role working under Mike Mooney as an Adaptive Planning account executive at Alight. And just this month, I have joined the DataBlend team as an account executive working underneath Andrew McDonnell.

Tell me about your role.

My role at DataBlend is to help grow our book of business by sourcing new opportunities for us to sell DataBlend, whether it be into the SIAP community or outsourced accountants at CPA firms. I'll be responsible for helping close opportunities as they are identified, qualified, and moved throughout the sales pipeline.

What are you most excited about working for DataBlend?

I'm most excited to be on the ground floor of a small but very promising company. Working at DataBlend means I'll grow my knowledge and understanding of CPM solutions, like Adaptive Planning, and learn more about all pivotal systems integral to day-to-day operations within the Office of Finance.

Three fun facts about you?

  1. I'm an avid golfer, playing for about three years. When I returned to the Berkshires in June 2021, I joined a golf course, the Berkshire Hills Country Club. It's a great 18-hole course private club. It is known as the best course you've never heard of in Western Massachusetts.
  2. I love to work out and be active. Aside from keeping me physically in shape, working out helps keep me grounded. And it helps keep me mentally sharp.
  3. The last one is more about my family. Specifically, my sister, whom I'm very proud of. She is a United States Navy Diver. She's technically Special Operations. She's one of about 15 females in the 1300-person fleet. She's stationed out of Coronado, California. I've gone out there a few times to visit her. She's actually in Japan right now, flying home. I haven't seen her in four or five months, so I look forward to spending time with her over the next few weeks.

How has automation changed the way you work?

Automation has changed the way I/we as a society work on a day-to-day basis through more streamlined internal and external operations. As a sales representative, this means engaging with prospective clients quicker and more effectively, helping them to illustrate their business issues more accurately, and allowing DataBlend to solve these problems faster and more precisely.
