About
One of the nation’s largest accounting firms had a non-profit client transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop to Sage Intacct. However, their donation grant management software, eTapestry, could not integrate with Sage Intacct.
The Challenge
After considering other software options for grant management, the accounting firm's client decided to keep eTapestry and explore its integration with Sage Intacct. They would have to manually enter the data without integrating the two systems.
Manual data entry is not scalable and poses various challenges. The process is inherently time-consuming and has a high potential for human errors. By automating the process, organizations can utilize their human capital more efficiently and allocate those resources to more complex and value-adding endeavors.
The Solution
The accounting firm was introduced to DataBlend by Sage Intacct. They also considered a few other integration companies; however, finding a company willing to build an integration with eTapestry was difficult.
"DataBlend was cost-effective and willing to build the connection we needed. It also appeared to be a long-term solution to our integration issue."
They were the first DataBlend customer to integrate with eTapestry.
“In addition to implementing DataBlend, our client lost their controller. A lot of background information was lost, and we had a lot of data to sift through and categorize in Sage Intacct. I was unfamiliar with the technical aspects of integration, but DataBlend guided us through everything.”
They achieved an unprecedented level of automation after implementing DataBlend.
“The DataBlend connection was more automated than the QuickBooks integration. We save at least four hours monthly and we can allocate that time to other tasks.”
Donor and credit card transactions are now easily tagged in Sage Intacct from eTapestry. They can allocate multiple ways (i.e., classes, departments, etc.) with donor information.
The Conclusion
DataBlend is actively working with them to automate their client's dataflows, including ingestion of bank feeds and payroll data and connecting to applications like Clockify to ingest timesheet data.
