Meet Alex Astengo, Senior Director - International

Alex is a chartered accountant who began his career at PKF before moving into corporate finance at CB Richard Ellis, advising on international acquisitions across Europe, Asia, and Australia. He went on to lead finance for a private equity–backed online gaming business in London and later founded a South African software company distributing the Argus property management suite.

He then launched Accounting Back Office, a cloud-based accounting and advisory firm on Xero, before moving into fintech and insurtech leadership roles at Lightyear.cloud, SchemeServe, Cloud Insurance, and Root Platform. Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and Honours degree in Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand and passed the South African Institute of Chartered Accountant's Board exam.
