DataBlend Spotlight: Have you met Ben Julian yet? He's helping companies integrate their financial systems.

Have you met Ben Julian yet? Ben joined DataBlend in July and is our newest Integration Consultant. Read more about Ben below.

Where are you from?

I grew up in Western Massachusetts, but I currently reside in the Boston area. I went to college in Connecticut at Fairfield University. I graduated with a degree in accounting.

After college, I worked for two biotech companies, Biogen and AVEO Oncology. Through my experiences, I have observed accounting being carried out both with and without the use of technology. Using technology in accounting benefited me, so I decided to pursue a career at FloQast. I thought it would be cool to work for these tech companies that enable individual contributors or managers, controllers, and CFOs to work more efficiently and like a more connected environment. At FloQast, my love of accounting technology blossomed. When I came across the chance to join DataBlend, it was an opportunity to further assist finance and accounting by utilizing advanced technology solutions and connecting hundreds of applications.

Tell me about your role.

I will lead integration projects, leveraging my accounting and technology backgrounds. I am excited to show organizations how technology can help them become champions. I understand our customers' daily challenges because I have faced the same challenges myself. I am eager to expand my technical knowledge and use it to assist DataBlend's customers.

What are you most excited about working for DataBlend?

The company's mission resonates with me on a personal level. I get to help customers with challenges I faced early in my career. I can empathize with their workload and obstacles, and I am eager to help alleviate their burden. It's truly remarkable to have the opportunity to make their jobs easier.

Three fun facts about you?

1. My wife and I met on a dating app and ended up being next door neighbors in the North End of Boston.
2. My dog Lucy is my best friend (besides my wife of course!) and we spend a lot of time together.
3. I do most things righty but swing a golf club lefty.

How has automation changed the way you work?

Technology automation has become a natural part of our lives. I can automate tasks without realizing it with a reliable and comprehensive integrated technology system. From organizing my emails in HubSpot to sharing a calendar with my spouse, the potential for automation is limitless.
