DataBlend Spotlight: Have you met Terra Baker yet?

DB Meet TerraHave you met Terra Baker, our brand-new Integration Consultant at DataBlend? She joined the team a couple of weeks ago, and we are thrilled to have her on board! Learn more about Terra below.

Where are you from?

I’m originally from Texas, but I now call the wonderful city of Portland, Oregon home.

Tell me about your role?

I joined DataBlend as an Integration Consultant. My role is to help customers realize the value of their data by automating the exchange of information between systems that don’t natively connect.

What are you most excited about working for DataBlend?

Helping organizations better structure and make sense of their data is a passion of mine, and joining a company dedicated to innovation and excellence in this space is what drew me to DataBlend/eOne. From day one, I’ve felt the "people-first" energy that defines the workplace here, and it’s clear why our customer satisfaction is so high. I’m excited to be part of a company that balances high-level problem solving with a fun, collaborative atmosphere.

Three fun facts about you:

  1. While I live in Portland now, I moved here from Texas a few years ago after having lived there all my life.
  2. I love to travel for both work and recreation. I’ve worked in 6 different European nations and travelled to a total of 14 countries so far. Folks always ask me which was my favorite – a hard question since the answer varies depending on my mood.
  3. I am a passionate believer in giving back. Much of my free time is spent on volunteerism, helping people and non-profit organizations. For example, I was on the Board of Directors of one of the country’s largest makerspaces (Dallas Makerspace) for 2 years.

How has automation changed the way you work?

I am a passionate believer in the power of automation. Everyone has tasks that are necessary, but that take them away from the parts of their job that are more important. Automation enables me to eliminate a lot of humdrum slog and free up my time to do the more interesting and vital work.
