DataBlend Spotlight: Have you met Theresa Nguyen yet?

DB Meet TheresaHave you met Theresa Nguyen, our brand-new QA Specialist at DataBlend? She joined the team a couple of weeks ago, and we are thrilled to have her on board! Learn more about Theresa below.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where I still live today, though I’ll be the first to admit I’m absolutely not built for the heat.

Tell me about your role?

As DataBlend’s QA Specialist, I am excited to drive product innovation by streamlining overall testing processes, developing standards and procedures to assess product quality and release readiness, and documenting feature details in DataBlend’s Knowledge Base. I perform manual, automated, and regression testing to uncover potential user issues; identify, isolate, and track bugs, while monitoring their resolution; and review user interfaces for consistency and functionality to recommend improvements that enhance the overall user experience. I also collaborate with the Product Manager on Release Notes and DevOps, developing and coding automated tests to enhance testing capabilities.

What are you most excited about working for DataBlend?

I’m most excited about working closely with a great team while knowing that what I do will positively impact finance and accounting teams through a user-friendly tool that doesn’t require technical knowledge.

Three fun facts about you:

  1. My hobbies include playing games, watching animated shows, reading, and creating pixel art. I used to take pixel art commissions, and I’m exploring new hobbies as I get older.
  2. My partner’s enthusiasm for cars sparked my own interest, so I currently own a 1997 NA Miata that my partner found on Facebook Marketplace and a 2019 Audi RS3 that had to be delivered to me from another state. We sometimes attend car shows and meets.
  3. I am the eldest daughter of an eldest daughter, and I am the breadwinner.

How has automation changed the way you work?

Automating repetitive tasks speeds up processes and improves data consistency and integrity. I’ve used complex formulas and conditional formatting in Excel and Google Sheets to reduce redundant steps, freeing up time for more strategic tasks.
